This is the first time we’re introducing table textiles at onthetable.uk, and it felt only right to begin with pieces that are not only beautiful but genuinely useful — things that feel good in the hand, look lovely on the table, and age with quiet grace.
These tea towels are by Boiida, a Stockholm based brand founded by Korean textile designer Seoyoung Shin, whose work I’ve admired for a long time and am so pleased to finally introduce.
They’re made from 100% European linen, woven in Sweden by Klässbols — the same mill trusted by the Nobel Banquet and the Swedish Royal Court. No big deal. (Actually, quite a big deal.)
The organic linen used here dries quickly, absorbs well, and becomes softer with every wash — the kind of material you can trust for everyday kitchen tasks. Use them for drying dishes, handling warm plates, covering food, or simply as a soft layer on your countertop. Even just hanging one in the kitchen brings a gentle warmth and a lovely sense of ease.
Dimensions
Approximately 55 x 68 cm
